No. 11 February 13, 2012
Dear Friends,
This week our Archbishop, Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan, will travel to Rome where he will take part next Saturday in the Consistory (an official Church gathering) where our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI will install the new cardinals. Cardinal Dolan is one of the new cardinals, as is Cardinal Edwin O’Brien, who is from The Bronx and who is now working in Rome. Our prayers go with Cardinal Dolan, Cardinal O’Brien and the twenty other new cardinals. We will offer Mass on Tuesday to pray for them. Cardinal Dolan has mentioned that this honor is not for him. It is for the people of New York. Pope Benedict is showing his love for the people of New York where he visited a few years ago. May the Lord continue to bless Pope Benedict, Cardinal Dolan and all the other leaders of the Church and help them to bring us closer to Christ Our Lord.
God bless you all!
Father Derivan

Results of the games of February 11 are as follows:
Wildcats vs. Redfox: The first game on Saturday pitted the 2nd Place Wildcats against the 4th Place Redfox who were looking for their first win. But this game was played like a Championship final. In the second half Joshua Joseph scored big for the Wildcats, but Dylan Repollet kept his Redfox in the game with big foul shots until the very end. The Wildcats eked by with a 14-13 win. Scorers for the Wildcats were Tahzee Robinson 8 and Joshua Joseph 6. Dylan Repollet had 11 for the Redfox and Liam, Pharoah had 2.
Gators vs. Bluedevils: The Gators had their first loss the previous Saturday and they were not ready to lose again. Lakers vs. Heat: The Heat went into this game with a 5-0 record, needing only one more win to clinch First Place in the Senior Division. But the Lakers (at 1-4) had other ideas. To pit it mildly, the Lakers played like a Championship-caliber team. Led by Joshua McMaster, the Lakers went up 12-7 in the first quarter. By the half William Perez and Damien Henry helped to put the Lakers up 34-15. In the second half Victor Aisogun tried to rally his Heat team, but Joshua McMaster put on his Jeremy Lin performance and propelled his Lakers on to a convincing 60-45 victory.
